This red sauce is so simple and so tasty, you'll never consider buying a jar of sauce again. Not only is it head and shoulder above the store bought jarred stuff, it is a fraction of the price to make and only takes about 5 minutes to make.
Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and warm the sauce over a low to medium heat. You will want to stir the sauce while it is warming (approx 5 minutes). This heating process allows the spices enough time to meld into the tomato sauce. Taste to see if additoinal spices are needed. At this point, my tweaking usually involves adding more garlic, red pepper and/or salt depending on my mood and my plans for the sauce.
I tend to use heavier garlic when the sauce will be used with pasta. I use less garlic and more red pepper flakes when it's going on pizza.
